A MAN was brutally assaulted outside a pub in Cumnock.
And police are convinced there were witnesses.
The 41-year-old sustained a serious head injury when he was attacked at about 11.45pm on Friday September 18 outside the Craighead Inn in Glaisnock Street.
A number of people were in the vicinity at the time and police want to hear from anyone who may have information.
Inspector Derek Ireland, of Cumnock police office, said: “I have little doubt that at least one person witnessed this attack and knows the person or persons responsible.
“The victim sustained a nasty head injury during the attack and I am keen that this enquiry meets an early resolution and for that to happen I need the assistance of the public to give us the information needed.
“That of course can be done in confidence if necessary.”
