A HOMELESS girl has landed the trip of a lifetime on a round-the-world yacht race.
Cassie Milligan, an unemployed chef, replied to a Jobcentre advert for young people with a "love of adventure".
Now she’s heading for Rio de Janiero as part of the racing boat’s crew.
The 20-year-old has been sleeping on floors and eating Pot Noodles to survive.
But she beat hundreds to the dream job on board the Edinburgh Inspiring Capital Clipper.
Having spent two months at an intensive training course, she will now set sail across the Atlantic for leg one of the 35,000 mile race.
Cassie is originally from Ayr and moved to Edinburgh in January after losing her job.
She hopes the yacht adventure will open doors to employment on the high seas in her chosen profession as a chef.
