Missing cactus returns to Ayr theme bar

IT’S not every day a leprechaun is spotted with a giant cactus in Ayr town centre.

But that’s exactly the sight that was captured on camera in the wee small hours of the morning. The 5ft cactus was smuggled under cover of darkness back to its home in the beer garden of wild west theme bar Cactus Jaks.

The leprechaun was aided by two undercover soldier types and one other in his mercy mission to repatriate the signature symbol of the Miller Road bar, which went missing more than two weeks ago.

Manager Steven Muir is delighted to have his cactus back. He said: “The place just wasn’t the same without it. It’s good to see it back where it belongs.”
