THE SNP have revealed their candidate for the Doon Valley by-election.
John Bell will bid to win the vacant seat on East Ayrshire Council following the death of popular Independant councillor Jim Sutherland earlier this year.
SNP leader Douglas Reid said: “We welcome John Bell as the SNP candidate for this election. We need people of his calibre to strengthen our group in its project to revitalise East Ayrshire.
“Working together, Drew Filson and John Bell will form a formidable team representing Drongan and Doon Valley.”
And MSP Adam Ingram added: “I am delighted that John will be the SNP candidate in Drongan and Doon Valley.
“Born in East Ayrshire and living within the ward, John knows and cares about local people and community issues.”
“If elected, I am sure he will be an outstanding representative for local folk and a strong voice for the ward on East Ayrshire Council.”
