A SICK thug who has clocked up a string of domestic abuse convictions has been jailed for 10 months.
Christopher Howie battered and degraded his partner just two weeks after being given probation for a similar attack.
The latest shameful act is Howie’s fifth conviction for domestic abuse in just four years.
The 25-year-old also has previous assault and robbery convictions.
Howie admitted his latest offence at Ayr Sheriff Court.
He pled guilty to assaulting his partner on July 23 this year at his Ayr home.
In the prolonged and sickening attack Howie repeatedly punched her on the head and dragged her to the floor by her hair.
The sick thug then forced ash into his terrified victim’s mouth and over her face, smashed her body with a metal head board and sprayed her in the face with an aerosol.
Defence lawyer Peter Lockhart said: “My client was very recently given the chance of probation. He realises he has breached that and that jail is inevitable”
Having read background reports on Howie, Sheriff Jack McGowan jailed him for ten months.
Howie, of Kincaidston Drive, was sentenced to eight months for the assault and two months for breaching his probation.
