350 new jobs to be created for under 25s

MORE than 350 jobs will be created for under 25s in Ayrshire.

Organisations across Scotland have been bidding for funding to create the posts.

And from October, a range of posts will be provided thanks to the Future Jobs Fund.

East Ayrshire Council, the Scottish Forestry Commission/Project Scotland, and the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations were among the successful applicants.

Jean Wilson, of Jobcentre Plus Ayrshire, revealed: “These are real jobs that will last for at least six months and will bring real benefits to local communities.

“The Future Jobs Fund will help to improve the skills of young people and allow them to compete more successfully in the labour market during difficult economic times.

“We want all our eligible young people to get the chance of a job with the help of Future Jobs Fund and I would encourage all partnerships and organisations to get involved and consider submitting a bid for funding.”
