Bands put on a Dam good show

IT was a rockin’ good gig.

And over 1000 people turned out for Jam at the Dam.

Ten bands provided great sounds from the stage in Ayr’s Dam Park.

And the weather stayed fine for a fabulous Sunday.

Organiser Brian McKinlay pronounced himself satisfied.

Brian said: “I’m counting my blessings.

“Everything went pretty much like clockwork.

“And the general view is that we should make it an annual event.”

Brian admitted he really needed 1500 people there to break even.

But he said: “The word is out that Ayr can stage a festival to be proud of.

“It was very important to make this work.

“And we can build on what we’ve done, and make it bigger and better next year.”

Brian paid tribute to the bands, and to everyone who helped stage the big gig.

And now many are thanking Brian for having the courage to take such a big risk.
