WHEN Scott Nimmo graduated from Ayr College, little did he know he’d eventually return – as a lecturer.
The tourism graduate has just landed a job teaching a brand new generation of students and can hardly wait to get started.
The former factory worker completed his HND at the college four years ago.
He went on to complete a tourism management degree at Glasgow Caledonian University and a teaching qualification at Stirling University before returning to Ayr.
He said: “It’s fantastic to be able to underpin students’ knowledge of a subject and see them succeed.”
Scott teaches a variety of subjects part-time, including tourism, IT and business related subjects.
He is also helping develop courses to be delivered in colleges in India as part of the college’s international programme.
The 43-year-old explained: “I wanted to do something different and challenge myself. I certainly found it at Ayr College.
“I really enjoyed my time as a student there. The fact that I’ve returned to the college to work as a lecturer shows just how much I valued the experience.”
