Man seriously injured in crash

A 30-year-old man is in a serious condition after a road crash near Hollybush.

The incident happened last Friday at around 10.45am when his silver Toyota Celica was driving east on the A713.

He collided firstly with a black Volkswagen van and then with a black Volkswagen Safari car, which were both travelling west near to Borland Farm.

The injured Celica driver was taken to Ayr Hospital and then transferred to Gartnavel Hospital in Glasgow to be treated for a serious chest injury.

He remains in a very serious condition.

Sergeant Ian Pittams at Ayr Traffic department would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash.

He specifically wants to speak to two men who were travelling in a van and who stopped to assist in removing the injured man from his car.

These men, along with any other witnesses, are urged to contact police on 01292 664000.
