Dawn Construction wins Ayrshire hospital contract

DAWN Construction is in charge of building a new £100m hospital.

The firm will develop the new North Ayrshire Community Hospital in Irvine.

The new facility will help NHS Ayrshire and Arran towards achieving its long-term goal of shifting the balance of care from acute hospitals into more community based facilities.

And Dawn have already proved themselves worthy of the massive contract.

They were involved in developing the Ayrshire Maternity Unit at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock and Spire Shawfair Hospital in Edinburgh.

The range of healthcare services provided will cater to a wide range of needs, and include a new community hospital and new mental health inpatient facility.

The community facility is likely to include outpatients, rehabilitation services, primary care facilities, Allied Health Professions such as physiotherapy, dieticians and speech and language therapists, NHS Ayrshire Doctors On Call (ADOC), and North Ayrshire Council social services.

Discussions are underway between NHS Ayrshire & Arran and North Ayrshire Council over the possibility of including a leisure centre as part of the development.
