It's not all about running around in war zones

STUART Hunter, 18, from Mauchline, Colin Kennedy, 20, from Catrine, Steven Yates, 21, from Auchinleck, and Grahame Horton, 31, from Kilwinning, are all from the B coy of 6 SCOTS, our very own TA infantry.

Colin said: “It was a pretty good feeling walking down the high street. I was surprised at the number of people who came out to show their support.”

Grahame added: “All I could think about was keeping in step.”

Steven said: “It was like getting a big pat on the back.

“It’s great that so many people came out to show their appreciation.”

And Stuart hopes the benefits of the parade will be far reaching.

He said: “It helps to promote the armed forces and let people know it’s not all about running around in war zones. Hopefully, today will encourage people to sign up.”
