Pensioner on her way to a healthier lifestyle

YOU’RE never too old to lose weight – just ask Vida Cotton.

At 72 she’s just lost four stones and is looking forward to a healthy new future.

After years of being frustrated by fad diets the Ayr pensioner was inspired into action when her niece lost stones with weight management experts LighterLife.

She explained: “I have done most diets on the market, but really started to pile on the pounds after having a hip replacement.

“I watched my niece lose four stones with LighterLife and couldn’t wait to start.”

Vida joined the Ayr group and hasn’t looked back since.

She said: “I loved the weekly group meetings, I am delighted with my weight loss and Maureen was absolutely fantastic.”

And it’s not just Vida who’s enjoying her new look.

She added: “My husband keeps on walking into the kitchen and getting a shock as he thinks that there is a stranger in the house, but in fact he has a new model wife.

“My blood pressure is back to normal, my health has improved and I haven’t felt like this in years.”

At 25 Lisa Brown was storing up lots of health problems for the future because of her weight.

She’d struggled to control her eating since she was a teenager and was squeezing into size 18 and 20 outfits.

The Tarbolton girl explained: “I have struggled with my weight since I was 18 when I moved out of home and took charge of what was in the cupboards.

“My partner is in the army and is away lots and I would eat when I was lonely.

“I have tried various ways to lose weight and although I have had some success, I always went back to my old habits and put it all back on.

“I got the wake up call I needed when I went to see the nurse and she told me that in 10 years, if I didn’t do something about my weight, then I could have diabetes and heart problems.”

Lisa took the advice to heart and joined LighterLife and lost a fantastic six stones.

And now she can hardly wait to slip into her slinky bikini when she goes on holiday this year.

She added: “Seven months ago I was buying size 18/20 clothes and am delighted to say that I am actually looking forward to putting on a size 10 bikini when I go on holidays this year.”

Maureen Bradley runs the Ayr club and as a weight management counsellor she it is thrilled to see her clients achieve great results.

She pointed out: “Lisa and Vida have done brilliantly and not only do they both look and feel fantastic, but their health has also improved dramatically.

“LighterLife has been a huge success in Ayr and over the past four years I have helped hundreds of people achieve their weight-loss dreams.”
