Thugs wreck school's eco garden

Forehill Primary Eco Garden

SCHOOL kids have been left heartbroken after vandals wrecked part of their eco-garden.

Pupils at Forehill primary were stunned when they came to school on Monday morning to discover their art work had been torn down.

The youngsters spent weeks designing and painting the panels before they were finally put up on Thursday.

It was one of the final touches to the eco-garden, which has been two years in the making.

But at some point over the weekend, thugs have torn five of the panels down and broken one of them.

It is hoped police investigating the vandalism will catch the culprits – they have almost certainly been caught on CCTV.

Forehill primary was given a grant of £4000 from the Royal Bank of Scotland’s super grounds fund.

Head teacher Sheena Templeton spoke of her outrage: “They need to think about the impact they are having on the children. It’s not the adults they are getting at, if that’s what they are trying to do, it’s the children they are affecting.

“We don’t mind people coming in and using the garden and enjoying it. We appreciate that’s there’s nowhere else for them to sit and chat and spend a bit of time. All we ask is that they help us look after it and keep it the way it is.”

Police are investigating the vandalism of Forehill’s eco-garden.
