Dealer jailed after swoop

A DRUG dealer caught with a £100,000 stash of killer cocaine has been jailed.

William Scott was busted by cops working on a massive intelligence led operation earlier this year.

The two kilograms of cocaine the 58-year-old was caught with were destroyed before they made it onto the streets.

He pled guilty at Ayr Sheriff court to being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

And this week the Dalmilling man was sentenced to two years behind bars.

Scott was arrested as part of Operation Salute, conducted by the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency.

Detective Superintendent Andrew Ronald spoke out after Scott was sentenced.

He said: “Strathclyde police and the SCDEA work together on an almost daily basis and through this operation, we successfully removed £100,000 worth of cocaine from the streets.

“Illegal drugs continue to cause misery in many of our communities.

“But we will continue to work tirelessly with our partners to stop the flow of dangerous drugs to our communities.”

Detective Chief Superintendent Gavin Robertson added: “Too many people are affected by the fear, intimidation and violence associated with the illegal drugs trade.

“We are determined to track the criminal networks that supply these harmful substances and to bring to justice those involved.”
