AN Ayrshire art star is to have her work displayed on the London underground.
Sarah Muirhead has been earmarked as one of Britain’s top young talents.
And her latest work will go before commuters on at Euston Station.
She’ll also take part in a glamour exhibition at department store Selfridges, showcasing the country’s best emerging artists.
It’s a long way from the art classrooms of Wellington school, but Ayr girl Sarah is now set for the big time.
She revealed: “I was always very well encouraged at school when it came to my art.
“My teacher Mrs Stevenson would push me along and inspire me to do more, so it’s great to have reached this point.
“But I’m just thrilled to be getting the chance as I know this could be the launchpad for my career.
“I’ve always liked the idea of my work being seen by everyday people, rather than just artistic types.
“So the exhibition on the underground will be perfect for getting my work out there.
“I’m very excited about going down to the station and seeing it for myself as all the people pass by.”
Sarah, 22, has just graduated from Edinburgh’s College of Art with a degree in drawing and painting.
And she’ll be the youngest artist on show at the murmurART Selfridges exhibition, which will feature just 10 artists from across Britain.
A judging panel including famous artist Tracey Emin and actor Kevin Spacey chose Sarah to appear on the bill.
She confessed: “I'm really excited and surprised to have been selected.
“I believe that artwork should not be confined to gallery space and feel really lucky to be showing work in two situations where such a wide audience can see my work.”
Sarah will be able to sell her work in Selfridges between July 1-15 and take 100 per cent of the sale price.
