Baby group sings its way to top award

AN education class for Ayrshire babies has won a national award.

Sing and Sign helps tots communicate with their parents through music and sign language.

And for the third year running, the Ayrshire class won Best National Toddler Development Activity.

The awards celebrate the best pre-school activities across the UK, as voted for by parents.

Sing and Sign is run by mum Mandie Danks.

She said: “It was a thrill just to be nominated for this award and now to win as well is just fantastic.

“I am so pleased the lovely parents who come to our groups have valued our classes enough to want to vote for us in such numbers.

“Helping babies communicate has been the most rewarding job I can imagine.

“I started teaching Sing and Sign because I loved singing with my own baby and it’s wonderful to know so many other parents are now enjoying it too.”
