Ayr's Belleisle House Hotel opens its doors again

AYR’S Belleisle House Hotel has re-opened following a major refurbishment.

The stunning 18th century mansion has welcomed its first guests in time for the Open championship at Turnberry.

Area manager John Stirrat insists that the hotel is ready to resume its place as one of Ayr’s top venues.

He said: “The sleeping giant has awakened.

“It’s time to get beautiful Belleisle back to where it was, the first choice locally for accommodation, dining, weddings and conferences.”

Hotel owners McKever Hotels insist that they are committed to continued improvement of the hotel.

Mr Stirrat added: “The Belleisle is an Ayrshire gem and we’ve spent a lot of money to upgrade it and provide top-class facilities.

“We have 15 newly-refurbished bedrooms, with lovely wee touches like top of the range TVs, luxury toiletries, complimentary wifi and nightcaps.

“In addition, we have a gorgeous drawing room, a golfers bar, a lounge bar with fifty different malt whiskies, and big conference rooms and function suites which can handle up to 300 people.”

And he insists that the standard of food has also been dramatically improved.

He went on: “We have a super new chef, Steven Campbell, who comes from Ayr and is supported by our group executive Chef Graham Headland.

“The Fountainebleu restaurant is renowned for its fine dining, charm and ambience, and I'm glad to say is now back to its best.”

John encouraged the public to call into the hotel and see the changes for themselves, adding: “It’s important that people see Belleisle’s makeover at first hand, so we’re sure that will encourage them to visit.

“And I know they'll be impressed.”

And he revealed that BBC Radio Scotland has selected Belleisle as the venue for a special golf programme to be broadcast on the eve of the Open Championship next month.

He said: “We’re looking forward to that and hopeful of seeing some big names in golf in the hotel that night.

“The Belleisle is back in business, better and more beautiful than ever.”
