Rhona storms off stage

A TOP night of entertainment descended into farce when the headline act stormed off stage.

Comedienne Rhona Cameron walked off in a huff during her show at last week’s Burns Festival.

It’s believed she was upset with the quality of the sound system inside the Festival Club at Ayr’s Wellington Square.

Organisers were forced into a grovelling apology as Ms Cameron, 43, refused to return.

Fans had paid £17.50 per ticket for the stand-up show, which was supposed to be a highlight of the festival.

The comic was billed as a headliner of the week-long event, alongside Scots musicians Hue and Cry.

A festival spokesman said: "Unfortunately, Ms Cameron made an artistic decision to cut her performance short.

"We immediately provided full refunds to the entire audience of around 100 people and offered our sincere apologies to all who were in attendance.

"The festival attempts to offer a wide range of entertainment each year and we hope this one occurrence did not detract too much from people's overall enjoyment of this year's festival."
