Purrfect job for cheeky kitten Kira

A CUTE Ayr kitten could become a nationwide star.

The 22-month-old, called Kira, is in line to be the face of Felix cat food.

Smitten couple Stephen and Katrina Murphy reckon their furball should take the title, so they’ve entered their pet in a contest to have her picture put on pet food packs.

Stephen said: “Everyone knows that kittens are really cheeky, but I really think that Kira might be the most mischievous one in the country.

“She’s always creating mayhem around the home, including scaling the heights of our curtains and the clothes horse.

“And she loves nothing better than to wake me up in the morning with an affectionate hair tugging battle.

“I hope that the judges will agree that Kira has the Felix Kitten Factor and she will get her 15 minutes of fame.”

The feline giant is donating £1 to Cats Protection for every nomination they receive.

The charity’s Jane Wickens revealed: “This month alone we have 1600 kittens who need a caring and loving home.

“This campaign is a great way to raise awareness of these loveable and entertaining little rascals and the money raised will be invaluable.

“We will use it to help build a great new home for many kittens and cats until they move on.”

The competition closes on June 28, so there’s still time to take part.
