It's not just any queue, it's an M&S queue

A MASSIVE queue of 700 people formed outside Marks and Spencer’s Ayr store just before its doors opened last Wednesday morning.

Across the country, the company wascelebrating its 125th birthday by offering a limited amount of customers who came to the store first thing on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of last week the chance to ‘buy’ five products – out of a designated range of 20 – for only 1p.

At the Ayr store the 1p wasn’t taken but customers were asked to give a donation to the Ayrshire Hospice instead.

Store manager Scott Munro said: “Over the three days more than 400 people obtained products from our special Penny Bazaar, and over £1000 was raised for the Ayrshire Hospice, our designated charity for our 125 days celebration period.”
