Ayr girl Charlene nails it

CHARLENE Campbell, 25, from Ayr, was thrilled to come third in the Scottish Nail Tech 2009 competition.

Held at the Royal Highland Centre, in Edinburgh, Charlene just missed taking the first place by only two points.

“The first three places were very closely contested and I competed along with nail technicians from all over Scotland – including seven other technicians from the Ayr area,” said Charlene, who has been a fully trained beauty therapist for six years but has been specialising in nail enhancements for seven years.

She went on: “I worked in local salons for four years before I decided I wanted to start up on my own.

“I first set up Tranquility Beauty within the Ramada Jarvis hotel and six months ago joined Catherine Donald at Elements of Life Clinic in Wellington Square and also Cheryl Monaghan, who owns Beauty Image, which means three local businesses are providing their expertise within one salon environment”.
