AN Ayr yob threw a brick at a living room window while an 18-month baby was sleeping inside.
Shaun Templeton, 17, became enraged when he was told there was no party on at an address in Galloway Avenue.
Depute Fiscal Andrew Calderwood told Ayr Sheriff Court last week: “Witnesses in this case were within the house in the living room with an 18-month-old child when the accused made approaches and asked to come in.
“He was refused entry and at 1am the accused was seen picking up a brick and throwing it at the living room window.
“The brick smashed the exterior pane of the double glazed window.”
Mr Calderwood said that the cost of the damage was £250.
Templeton, of Thorneyflat Road, admitted that he threw a brick at the window on April 10 placing the occupants – including the 18-month-old child – at risk of injury and being struck by broken glass.
His solicitor, Ian Gillies, said: “Mr Templeton thought there was a party and there wasn’t.
“In temper he picked up a stone from the garden and threw it at the window.”
Templeton appeared before Sheriff Jack McGowan on deferred sentence.
Sentencing him to 60 days in a Young Offenders Institute, Sheriff McGowan, told him that his behaviour in the early hours of April 10 “beggars belief”.
