Kenya exercise is a real test

FUSILIER WIlliam Wood is finding the training exercise in Kenya even more challenging than his tour of Afghanistan.

The 20-year-old Dalmellington man has been in the army for three years.

He said: “Out there you would go into a compound until the heat dies down, but here you are out all day.

“When I was in Afghanistan I spent a lot of time in air conditioned wagons because I worked from the armoured vehicles so I’m finding the heat over here really tough.”
