A bit of a doo for Draco and Maya
SCOOBY-DOO where are you?
The answer, it seems, is Drongan.
For a real life cartoon story has come to life in the village – and is set to take the stage by storm.
Dog owner Michael Hogg has always known his pet pooch Draco could turn heads.
Now film giants Warner Bros want the giant otter hound to become a film star.
And it’s not stopping there as Michael’s other dog, Maya, is ready for the role of Scrappy Doo.
The little and large pair have been identified as spitting images for the cartoon characters by excited film makers.
Michael’s mum, Nora, isn’t surprised that the family pets are on the verge of stardom.
She said: “Draco would make a great cartoon character just because of the way he looks and acts.
“But he’s got the whole Scooby Doo thing as well, so he’s perfect for the role.
“We saw an advert asking for a big brown dog with fluffy ears and shaggy hair and thought – that’s Draco.
“They immediately loved him and when they heard about our mini wire-haired dashound, Maya, they were so excited.
“They’ve got a ready-made Scooby and Scrappy.”
The famous dogs are being lined up to star in a stage re-make of the show which Warner Bros then want to turn into a film.
And Michael, 20, may even land a walk-on part in his childhood favourite.
Nora added: “Michael’s loved Scooby Doo all his years so this would be a dream for him.”
