Prestwick Airport user numbers fall

THE NUMBER of passengers using Prestwick Airport over the Easter weekend has fallen.

Around 30,000 people were expected to use the facility, down on the same time last year.

Airport chiefs insist that the loss of charters from Seguro Holidays and the economic downturn are partly responsible for the fall in passenger numbers.

Although they did reveal that the most popular destinations from Prestwick this Easter included Derry, Gothenburg, Shannon and London.
