Disfigured after Ayr street attack
A MAN has admitted arming himself with a hammer and his teenage pal has pled guilty to permanently scarring another man.
James McGarrie, 22, pled guilty to being in possession of a hammer in Westwood Crescent on August 9 last year.
His friend Ryan Young, 19, who lives in Westwood Crescent, admitted an assault on the same date.
Young repeatedly struck his victim on the head causing him to fall and strike his head on the pavement.
The attack severely injured the man and left him permanently disfigured.
Sentence was deferred on the pair for background reports when they appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.
