Cyclist stable after accident

CYCLIST Andy McKinlay suffered head injuries in an accident while out on a training run on Sunday.

Mr McKinlay, 45, was with a group of Ayr Roads Cycling Club colleagues when the accident occurred around noon.

The group were cycling on the B7045 between Straiton and Kirkmichael at the time.

Andy left the road on a bend, colliding with a post and sustaining serious head injuries.

He was taken to the Southern General where his condition is now stable.
