Ayr stylist heads to final

HAIRDRESSER Karen Julyan’s talent with colour has put her in line for a top award.

The talented 27-year-old is one of just 40 crimpers to make it to the Scottish final of the longest running hairdressing contest in the world.

She won her spot after beating off competition from representatives from 1200 salons across Scotland.

Karen, who is creative and training manager at popular Ayr salon A Cut Above, will take part in the regional final of the L’Oreal Professional Men’s Image Award at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow next month.

Her work will be judged by some of the most successful names in British hairdressing.

Karen, who lives in Irvine, said: “I’m really looking forward to it and I just can’t wait to get there.

“It’s a great experience and I’m really pleased to be taking part.”
