SOUTH Ayrshire’s budget must be stopped in its tracks.
That’s the view of MSP Cathy Jamieson.
She marched alongside thousands of South Ayrshire residents angry at cuts in council services.
The MSP for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley said: “I’ve been inundated with people worried about cuts in services.
“It started off with public toilets closing last year.
“It has gradually worse ever since.
“Public services are being cut, the roads are in a terrible state and people are worried about what will come next.
“This council need to stop ignoring people and start listening.
“They need to put a stop to this budget process before it goes any further.
“They need to consult with the people and try and find solutions to the problems they face other than cutting services.”
And Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock MP Sandra Osborne added: “I was very proud to march shoulder to shoulder with the people of South Ayrshire to express our anger at the Tory and SNP administration in South Ayrshire’s programme of closures, cuts and increased charges.”
