A CASANOVA conman set up a charity night in a pub and disappeared with the proceeds.
And since we ran the story about the fraudster who preys on women using dating websites, six others have come forward claiming they have fallen victim to his charms.
For legal reasons we cannot publish his name, but the woman who originally came to us warning about the conman has been in contact with his other victims.
And staff at a Kilbirnie pub that the man used to work in have also contacted us explaining how he ripped off generous punters.
The man started working in Morgan’s Bar after losing his job as a paramedic in April last year.
While working there he organised a charity night in aid of the neo-natal unit at Crosshouse hospital.
Customers of the pub rallied round to support the cause and queued up to have their legs waxed to raised £1000.
But the man made off with the charity money, never to be seen again.
Another woman emailed the Post to say that she also dated the con artist.
The Maybole lady explained that he told her he owned the bar in Kilbirnie and also tried to convince her that he used to work with the bomb disposal unit in the British Army.
The Ayr lady who originally came to the Ayrshire Post has also been in contact with his ex-wife who was horrified to hear what the father of her two children has been up to.
The woman, who was conned out of hundreds of pounds, said: “It’s like something out of a soap opera.
“He seems to spend his life going from one woman to another ripping them off.
“He’s very convincing. He’s charismatic and clever. But he stole from me, and I’m sure he’s moved on to some other unsuspecting woman now.
“He had a key to my house so I’ve had to change my locks. I can’t believe how genuine he seemed to be.”
The woman has already reported the man to police and is encouraging others to do the same.
Her credit card’s fraud investigation team are investigating transactions worth hundreds of pounds that he is alleged to have made.
