Ayrshire carers fight for backing

CARERS are fighting to be recognised for the tremendous work they do.

The 37,000 army of unpaid carers in Ayrshire have launched a campaign to ensure fair investment.

Unsung care providers saved the NHS around £364 million a year.

Now they have joined together to persuade the health board and Ayrshire councils to strengthen their efforts and identify what they will do to support the vital work the carers deliver.

They want to see increased investment for respite for carers, more training for carers and greater investment for young carers.
