LAGER loving Brian Gibson drank almost 1000 cans during a drinking marathon he called “work”.
Now the Ayr dad will auction off two handmade chairs crafted from empty Tennents tins.
Brian, 40, guzzled an incredible 928 cans as he gathered the materials for the job.
Then he built the thrones from scratch and now wants to flog them for charity.
“I’m not a drunk or anything like that,” he insisted.
“I’ve loved Tennents since I was young and I drink it all the time.
“I decided I would try my hand at recycling so used the cans instead of throwing them out.
“It was something a bit different so I came up with the chair idea.
“I even tried to make a table but it fell apart.”
The cans are glued together using No More Nails and Brian even roped in wife Barbara to help with the building work.
He admitted: “It almost became my job once I got started.
“I was dying to get it finished.”
And Brian’s lager can construction business shows no sign of slowing – with ideas in the pipeline for other household items like a computer desk.
He laughed: “Hopefully someone will have better use for these chairs than me and I can auction them for charity.
“They can take the weight of someone like me so as long as you weren’t too heavy I suppose you could even use them to sit on in your living room.”
