A TOP poet will return to his Ayrshire roots for the Homecoming celebrations.
John Rice, poet-in-residence on Glasgow’s subway system, will deliver poetry workshops at Dalmilling primary tomorrow (Friday).
On Saturday he leads a family event in Carnegie Library with live performances at 11am and 1.30pm.
And on Sunday he joins acclaimed Scots’ poets Liz Lochhead and Stewart Conn to perform at Alloway village hall at 2pm.
Councillor Margaret Toner admitted: “I am delighted that John Rice is returning to his roots in Ayrshire to take part in Poets Centre Stage.
“To have John and other such well respected poets performing the works of our national bard in the village of his birth will be truly amazing.”
