MOTORISTS in South Ayrshire could save millions every year by changing the way they drive.
A survey has revealed that 55 per cent of Scots admit the way they drive harms the environment.
And nine out of 10 say they would alter their behaviour behind the wheel if it meant saving money.
Eco-driving habits are the way forward, according to the Energy Saving Trust.
They’re running an eco-driving campaign to encourage healthier use of the road.
Transport minister Stewart Stevenson said: “Eco-driving is a simple but effective way in which drivers can make a real difference to tackling climate change.
“Adopting greener, more environmentally friendly driving styles can not only help Scotland reach our world leading climate change ambitions, but it can also help people save money through reduced fuel and maintenance costs.
“This can be a welcome boost to many in the current economic climate.”
