A MOTORCYCLIST who popped to the supermarket is among the 14 people who have been busted for drink-driving.
The biker was more than twice over the limit when cops breathalysed him at Tesco at 3.20am on December 13.
The arrests came in the first week of the police’s festive drink-driving campaign.
Traffic police in South Ayrshire are out in force in a bid to catch the cocky drivers who dare to get behind the wheel while they are over the limit.
With Christmas parties happening all over the county and more opportunities than usual to have a drink with friends, the temptation to drink and drive is too much for some drivers.
And even those who drive for a living won’t escape the crackdown.
Police will be carrying out spot checks on taxi drivers to ensure that they are licenced, the cars are licenced and that the taxis are safe and fit for purpose.
As a matter of course, any driver involved in a car crash over the festive period will be breathalysed.
