Ayr neighbours scoop postcode lottery

A PAIR of lucky neighbours are celebrating a windfall in the Postcode Lottery.

Bernadette Robertson, 50, and Elisabeth McLaughlin, 62, who both live in Ayr’s Bellevue Road, scooped £25,000 between them.

And the lucky women are the first people in Ayr to win on the postcode lottery.

Bernadette was shocked when the team appeared at her door clutching champagne, flowers and a cheque for £8,334.

Bernadette said: “I’ve been playing the postcode lottery since not long after it started. It’s a great way to give to charity.

“When the team turned up at my door I couldn’t believe it. It all happened so quick but it was overwhelming.

“It’s fantastic but I was so shocked I was shaking and everything. I’d have dressed up and put my high heels on if I’d known they were coming.”

Elisabeth McLaughlin, won £16,668 and has only been playing for a month.

She said: “It’s brilliant, I just can’t believe it. I joined last month after seeing presenter, Angus Purden flying upside down in the plane, but I didn’t expect to win anything. I’ll definitely keep playing now.”

A further 59 players who live in the KA7 2 postcode sector shared prizes from £85 to £225 in last week’s draw.
