Ayrshire MP slams rip-off meters

PEOPLE are being overcharged for power when they use pre-pay meters.

And MP Sandra Osborne says that she’s been contacted by people living in her Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock constituency for help in solving the problem.

She explained: “This practice is wrong and action is needed.

“I am pleased that the government has made it clear to the big six utility companies that it expects them to take action.

“If the companies don’t act, climate change secretary Ed Milliband has assured me that they will bring forward legislation to prevent unfair pricing practices.

“I will support these moves to stop this rip off.”
