Big-hearted Ayr butchers raise cash for cancer charity!

LADIES... take a butchers at these prime cuts.

Wouldn’t you like to meat this big-hearted bunch?

The crew at Pollok Williamson in Ayr are donning pink aprons in a bid to raise cash for Breast Cancer Care.

And this lot don’t mince their words.

Gary Ferguson, pictured middle, said: “We’ve got a collection box in the shop and we want people to give as generously as they possibly can.”

Gary, along with manager Clark McCrindle and George Ross, took part in In The Pink Day last Friday.

It saw people up and down the country fundraising for Breast Cancer Care.

But we bet nobody was happier than the High Street shoppers who got to feast their eyes on the best loved butchers in town.

And the heart throbs even treated the Ayrshire Post to an exclusive photo shoot.

Gary said: “We were absolutely freezing. The shop is right at the bus stop and I’m sure there were people letting their buses go past so that they could watch us. We gathered quite a crowd!”

There’s a lot at steak for the boys, for the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders Association, who supported the day, have vowed to give a case of pink champagne for the best photo.

We reckon it’s in the bag for the boys at Pollok Williamson.

Gillan Hamilton, area fundraiser for Breast Cancer Care, said: “It’s fantastic news that Pollok Williamson butchers will be helping us to raise awareness and vital funds.

“Their commitment will enable us to help many more people affected by breast cancer and make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.”
