Restaurant boss stabbed by thug

A BRUTAL thug has admitted stabbing a restaurant boss in broad daylight.

Shanghai Rendezvous co-owner Dian Cai, 33, was attacked as he parked his car on January 8 last year.

The attack happened in Burns Statue Square, just yards from the restaurant, at around midday.

This week at Ayr Sheriff Court, Gordon Jowett pleaded guilty to the attack.

Jowett, 39, admitted that while acting with another he stabbed Mr Cai on the body with a knife to his severe injury.

He also admitted a charge of failing to appear at court on April 28 this year.

Sentenced was deferred on Jowett and he was remanded in custody.
