HISTORIC Doonbrae House has gone on the market for £1.9m.
The seven-bedroom Alloway house has been put up for sale by owner Costley and Costley Hoteliers.
Group chairman Bill Costley revealed that the move is part of a reorganisation of the company assets.
He explained that it includes selling off some of the domestic properties owned by the firm.
He said: “We have always had an active programme of buying and selling properties, when appropriate.
“And we have major plans for the further development of, and considerable investment in, our hotels and inns which I’m delighted to say continue to be successful after 21 years in business.”
Doonbrae was bought by the chain in 2007 for corporate and private use.
It comes complete with two cottages and has expansive gardens running down to the banks of the River Doon.
The sale also includes a five acre paddock on the opposite side of the river ensuring Doonbrae’s rural outlook is preserved.
Selling agents are Savills.
