Ayr shoplifter was out of jail three days

A PROLIFIC criminal nicked £162 worth of goods from a shop – three days after he was released from prison.

James Tyson went into Superdrug in Ayr’s High Street on Friday, October 3, and tried to walk out with his loot.

But the brazen thief was caught red-handed and landed back in the dock and pleaded guilty to the offence.

Ayr Sheriff Court heard this week that the 25-year-old, who has seven pages of previous convictions, was only released from prison the Tuesday before his visit to Superdrug.

Sheriff Jack McGowan deferred sentence on Tyson, of Ayr’s Dunlop Terrace, for background reports.
