Christmas comes early for Ayr garden club

CHRISTMAS has come early for Ayrshire Rock Garden Club.

The club has just taken delivery of superb new digital equipment – a laptop, PA system, projector and screen, laminator and printer, thanks to funding from Awards For All.

Membership is open to all Ayrshire residents and keen gardeners whether Rockers or not with meetings having a wide subject matter.

This session includes The Bulb Year from David Millward, a geologist with the British Geological Survey, based in Edinburgh; a trip to Patagonia with Ian Christie, Scottish Rockers' - the Scottish Rock Garden Club - President, in charge.

Lady Rockers in the form of Julia Corden of the Explorers Garden in Pitlochry and Susan Band of Pitcairn Alpines take us In the Footsteps of Sheriff to Look at Some Things to do with Bulbs.

They hold regular plant sales with many unusual plants on offer. Their meetings are held, mainly (they do garden visits too!) in Alloway Church Hall on the second Wednesday of the month, and tea, coffee and chat are available at the end of the meeting.

For any further information call 01560 485990.

Make a date in your diary for Wednesday, October 8, at 7.30pm. The Club hope to see you at Alloway then.
