Birth place of an Ayrshire hero
THE family of the Ayrshire soldier who died in Afghanistan are anxious to point out that he was born and brought up in Mossblown village.
Corporal Barry Dempsey attended Annbank Primary School, then later Belmont Academy in Ayr.
Tributes have been paid to the 29-year-old medic who died in Helmand province when insurgents detonated a roadside bomb.
His body was due to be flown back to Scotland this week.
