SUPPORT for the troops is pouring in from across Ayrshire.
And as the Support our Soldiers campaign continues to gather momentum the rations are piling up.
Asda in Ayr set up an in-store donation point just a few days ago and have already been inundated with donations.
The Ayrshire Post, Kilmarnock Standard and Irvine Herald offices have also been overwhelmed by goodies for the troops.
Other companies lending their backing to the campaign this week are Tom Callaghan Windows and Conservatories and Boots the chemist in Irvine.
Agnes Hunter, founder of SOS in Scotland is delighted with the response: "Public support has been overwhelming and I've already had to go round some of the donation points up to three times to empty the boxes."
The good news doesn’t stop there for Irn Bru giant Barr has offered to donate supplies of Scotland’s other national drink to the troops.
And Ayr pensioner Betty Dickson will hold an open-house day at her Doonfoot home this Friday between noon to midnight at 41 Abbots Way.
The 74-year-old will hold a raffle and information on the charity will be available along with an SOS box for donations.
Ayr parents Irene and John Boyle are organising a homecoming dance at the RAFA Club in Prestwick for the October 3. Their son Stephen is currently serving in Afghanistan. Tickets will go on sale soon.
