Ayr businessman appeals cocaine sentence

A BUSINESSMAN is appealing against his prison sentence for dishing out killer cocaine.

David Shaw, a director of Simpson and Shaw LLP painters and decorators based in Forehill, was jailed for three months at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.

Shaw, who lives in Dalrymple, pleaded guilty to supplying cocaine at an address in Ayr’s Mill Street on May 24 this year.

It came after the 53-year-old was caught on CCTV giving the drug to two females in a nightclub in the town.

The shamed businessman was granted bail after launching an appeal the day after he was sentenced.
