A TINY salon has wiped the floor with some of the biggest players in the industry.
Bliss Salon, just off Tam’s Brig in Ayr, beat off stiff competition from top city salons to win a prestigious award.
The honour comes less than two years after the salon first opened its doors – and all before the owner turns 30.
Businesswoman Laura Sanderson was gobsmacked to win the Collin Scottish Salon of Excellence 2008.
She said: “We were up against 43 other salons, some of the best salons in Glasgow and Edinburgh, we couldn’t believe it when we won. A lot of hard work has paid off.”
Cumnock woman Laura, 29, decided to go it alone after working as a head therapist in another salon for more than nine years.
And the cosy beauty parlour has proved to be a big hit with customers.
Laura is keeping it in the family, her sister Elaine also works for her along with another therapist, Julie, and a receptionist.
