AYRSHIRE man Ian Cornforth was among the prize-winners during a training course for naval reservists.
The 38-year-old from Dalrymple was presented with the Captain’s Prize in recognition of his performance during training at HMS Raleigh in Cornwall.
Ian, who is a member of the Greenock based unit HMS Dalriada, spent two weeks pushing himself to his limits on the new entry course with reservists from across the UK.
In civilian life Ian works as a lecturer at the Scottish Agricultural College at Auchincruive.
He said: “The training pushed me very hard, but despite the long hours, it has been incredibly beneficial in making me a more complete person and a team player.
“The fond memories of this course will take a long time to fade.”
