Ayrshire Race for Life on course to raise £220,000

AYRSHIRE’S Race For Life is on target to raise more than £220,000 for Cancer Research UK.

The run, which saw 2700 women complete a 5k course at Ayr Racecourse, is being hailed a whopping success by organisers.

Race chief Leigh Fergus said: “The women that went round really enjoyed themselves; despite the weather, while helping a great cause.

“We had three ladies who dressed up as pink fairies in memory of their friend, three generations of the one family, a patient who had gone through her third chemo treatment the previous day, a lady who spray painted her hair pink and lots more great stories and pictures.”
