Regeneration is the focus of new Lochside group

A NEW tenants and residents group was this week launched in Ayr’s Lochside district.

A packed meeting in Lochside Community Centre saw a committee of 12 elected.

And interest was such that the appointment of secretary came down to the toss of a coin, after a tied vote.

The new association will liaise with Ayrshire Housing and South Ayrshire Council, with the aim of keeping the regeneration programme moving on apace.

Ayrshire Housing was pleased to support an event facilitated by its Lochside People and Place project team.

Next month, Ayrshire Housing commences construction of 100 new homes to replace recently demolished houses in McLean, Mackie and Gould Streets.

Alongside this, South Ayrshire Council plans to upgrade the surrounding properties — both internally and externally.
