HE’S at the top of his game and loving every minute of it.
And Ayr snapper Paul Walker has the awards to prove it.
For this talented dad-of-two has just picked up five top titles for doing a job he adores.
Paul’s passion for photography is evident in the stunning pictures that earned him the recognition of the Master Photographers’ Association.
He won awards in the Scottish regional animals and pets, consumer, most promising contemporary portrait, most promising contemporary wedding and open sections of the contest.
Paul lives in Ayr with his wife Kathryn and sons Euan, three, and Kieran, one, and runs his own photographic business specialising in portraits, weddings and pet photography.
He said: “I started taking photographs of animals and pets about 10 to 12 years ago and I loved it. I started doing portrait and weddings about four years ago and it’s gone from there.”
And he took the brave step of giving up his full-time job with the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency to set up his own business a few years later.
Paul explained: “I couldn’t go back to doing anything else. I’m passionate about photography.
“The competitions are good because they keep you on your toes. I like to try different styles and I work hard not to get complacent about what I do.”
A selection of Paul’s work is displayed on his three specialist websites, where potential clients can get a true flavour of what he’s capable of delivering.
